Svensk Form's Design Week Plans
We begin our design week activities on Feburary 6th with a roundtable discussion between Swedish and Spanish designers at the Instituto Cervantes. The following day we open the doors to all comers for our big PechaKucha night, featuring engaging presentations from design, fashion, digital, architecture and product industries. But, before that, we head to the fair itself, with a larger booth to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Form's +1 Award including all the past winners. Alongside these will be some of the products which Lauritz.com is auctioning off to raise funds to support the Ung Svensk Form awards and exhibition. We'll also be hosting sofa talks with guest designers and manufacturers throughout the week so pop by and see what's going on.
Form has also been chosen as the media sponsor for a number of the week's highlights: Finnish pop-up restaurant, Hel Yes! in Skeppsholmen's church, Alexander Lervik and Johan Carpner's challenging project 12 Hours in a cavern on Kungsholmen island and The Revolution of the Object, where Katrin Greiling shows new works from her trip to Indonesia. To top it off, and put an end to the complaints that nothing happens late in the evening, we're hosting Folkis, in Svensk Form's library on Skeppsholmen. Check the mail as individual invitations will be sent out soon, while seperate invitations, program details and timings will be up soon on the web.
