Lena Bergström
Lena is one of Sweden’s best known glass designers with a long career at Orrefors Glassworks; she also specializes in textiles. Her glass and textile designs are a bit like herself - hard and soft at the same time. “It’s more healthy to have different forms of expression than one single one”, Lena says. And her passion and knowledge for the material itself, with it’s own characteristics, quality and techniques, always shows in her work.
Lena graduated with a degree in Textile Design from the College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm in 1989, and has won numerous awards, including 14 Excellent Swedish Design and 3 Elle Decoration Design Awards. She is represented at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Stockholm, The Röhsska Museum of Fashion, Design and Decorative Arts in Gothenburg, the Cleveland Museum of Art in the United States, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
