Anki Gneib
Anki Gneib works with focus and consistency, and places experimental and playful expressions proudly in both the process and result – an approach that might explain why her work is in great demand among progressive furniture manufacturers.
Here is a designer who is in no way held back by Scandinavian design traditions. Born in London and educated in the Department of Interior Architecture and Furniture Design at the University College of Art Crafts and Design in Stockholm, Anki Gneib today works as an independent architect and designer and runs her own studio in Stockholm. She is also one of the joint owners of DAPstockholm, an architect firm founded in 2006 that works on a wide range of projects such as residential homes and public spaces.
Anki Gneib´s work has no random elements, but is based on a combination of imagination and forethought which gives her products an ingenious language. In 1996 her slanted shelf “Squeeze” received the design magazine Sköna Hem’s Furniture of the Year Award, as well as the Excellent Swedish Design award. Ten years later, she won the Lamp of the Year award from the Swedish design magazine Residence. Anki is represented at the Röhsska Museum for Design and Decorative Art in Gothenburg, and her clients over the years have included Arvesund, Asplund, AVMazzega, Ekdahlsmöbler, Frag, Offecct and Varaschin.
