Anna Kraitz
After studying art and design, Anna Kraitz opened her own studio in 1999. That same year she began a collaboration with the Swedish furniture company Källemo, a relationship which became decisive for her continuing work.
Her work tells stories about personal experiences and memories, and embodies commentaries on the everyday. "I use furniture and objects to tie down and capture the world around me", she says. "A world that sometimes, in the midst of the everyday, for a moment, can reveal itself as unfamiliar and sometimes seem somewhat surreal."
Anna Kraitz has been awarded a number of scholarships and prizes, and her work has been shown in both individual and group exhibitions around the world. She works with her own product line and also in collaboration with select companies. In 2008 she was awarded the prestigious Bruno Mathsson Prize.
