Anna Lerinder
Anna Lerinder was trained as a designer at Beckmans School of Design in Stockholm. She bases her operations in a studio in Gustavsberg’s old china factory on Värmdö in the Stockholm archipelago. Anna has been an active designer for about ten years. During this time, she has worked with wall decorations in china, designed for IKEA, Rörstrand and the Iittala Group. She has also completed designs for smaller companies and had a studio production of unique objects and utensils made in bone china and stoneware.
Anna’s production rests on three legs: decorations, product design and her own studio production. All the parts are important. The studio production - which is a trade – provides a lot of inspiration when she is creating an object for mass production, where most of the work is done by a computerized 3-D program. The decorations Anna creates are often large, and it is here that she finds an outlet for her desire to work with space and large volume.
Anna is currently working on two large wall decorations for Vasakronan and Familjebostäder. The decoration for Vasakronan will be placed in the main entrance of a newly renovated office building on Jakobsgatan in Stockholm City; the decorations for Familjebostäder will embellish three houses in Axelsberg outside Stockholm.
Anna is represented in the collections of the National Museum, at the National Public Art Council Sweden and in several Stockholm municipalities. Over the years she has participated in many national and international collection exhibitions; she has also held several private exhibitions. In 2002 Anna received the Bengt Julin Scholarship for young craftsmen, and in 2004 she was awarded the Ljunggren Designer Prize.
